Next year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona will see the launch of yet another new gizmo and this one is mainly aimed at the student community.

The Falcon tablet will have a built in projector that can be used to project what is displayed on the screen.

Akyumen, the company behind the venture, says it has been working on the technology for some years and the Falcon could be ready for roll-out by the first quarter of 2015.

According to the company, the tablet is positioned mainly for use among students, in classrooms and to showcase some of their project work and among the gaming community.

The device will have either Windows or Android and is equipped with an Intel Atom Processor, 64 GB storage.

One of the most significant features of the device is the projector. Speaking during the launch of 3allimini.net – an education portal that connects students with teachers, Mustafa Saied, CEO for Latin America, MENA and Europe, Akyumen said the Falcon would be initially positioned as a machine for students. “It has a great potential to be used in the classrooms. It could also be a hit among gamers,” he said during the event in Dubai.

According to him, the device can greatly improve student engagement and create a superior classroom learning experience.

“Students can use the device to share presentations, review reading material and other activities simply by displaying on any surface,” he added.

What’s more, the device comes with a stylus that can not only be used as a traditional stylus to work on the tablet screen but also functions like a mouse and a pointer.

The device can project up to 100-plus inches at 720p HD quality and 50+ lumens for its projector light.

The pricing strategy for the device was not revealed.
