9-member gang of shop and office burglars fall into UAE police net

Ras Al Khaimah Police has arrested nine members of a gang that specialised in theft from large department stores and travel agencies in the emirate.
 
Colonel AbdullahMenkhes said the gang of Arab nationals used to break locks and doors of shops and offices and then break the safes to steal money. In some cases, they took away small safes intact, broke them later, grabbed the cash and then got rid of the lockers.

The main suspect was arrested in Sharjah in cooperation with the emirate’s police.

Col. Menkhes said all members of the gang had been convicted and deported from UAE for theft earlier and had reentered the country illegally.

The rest of the suspects were held in Dubai and Ajman with the cooperation of the local police.
