A Chinese worker, who threatened of burn a family with a gas cylinder that he stole from a restaurant, was sentenced to six months in prison.

According to the records, on January 3 at around 1.30am, BO, 26, went to a restaurant in the International City’s China cluster where a gas cylinder was kept in an aluminum cabinet outside.  He broke the lock of the cabinet, carried the cylinder to a nearby building and put it in front of the door of a Chinese family He strongly knocked on the door and hid himself.

“I heard a knock on the door at around 1.30am. I rushed to open the door as the knocks were very loud. I opened the door and saw a large gas cylinder in front of the door. I looked around and did not see anyone. Suddenly, BO appeared shouting ‘I put the gas cylinder here and I will burn you and your family if you ask me again to return the money to your son,” MZ, 33, salesman, told investigators.

The family called the police who came and arrested the accused.

The restaurant’s owner was notified about the theft of the gas cylinder. He rushed to the scene and saw that the lock of the cabinet was broken and the cylinder stolen.
