The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance acquitted a Syrian manager of accusation of transferring a car owned by his employer to his sister-in-law’s name with the help of a forged document.
According to the records, on May 26, 2014, YH, 33, Syrian, bought a restaurant with all its belongings from its owner for Dh1.6 million.
“A Nissan Altima 2008 model was among the restaurant’s cars. I left the country and when I returned, I noticed that this car was missing. Checking with RTA, I found out that the car was sold on August 13 to a woman who was the wife of AM’s brother.
“Checking the document used for transferring the car’s ownership, I found out that a letter was issued by AM on the restaurant’s letterhead,” said the businessman.
AM denied the accusation when he appeared before the court and claimed that his employer had signed on the documents he had used for transferring the car to his sister-in-law’s name.
The court found AM not guilty of the charges brought against him.
