The Dubai Criminal Court acquitted a 32-year-old Bangladeshi office boy accused of molesting an employee on the office premises for lack of sufficient evidence.
MBA was also accused of possessing a pornographic film on his mobile phone, which he allegedly forcibly showed to the victim, before molesting her on May 29.
MBA is reported to have admitted his crime before prosecutors, but then denied the charges before the court.
According to the records, the victim, EAI, 21, Emirati, a telephone operator, testified that the office boy came to her office and asked her if she wants a cup of tea.
“I replied negatively, so he offered to show me videos saved on his mobile. When I refused, he closed the office door and started a video and put his mobile on my desk.
“He stood behind my chair and held my abaya. I pushed him back.
“He then apologised and asked me not to tell anyone about what he did,” she testified.
“I was got shocked and confused. Two days later I told my colleague and asked him to tell the director. After two more days, I told the director who informed the police,” she testified.
Her colleague, MA, 30, testified that when he confronted the accused with the video he showed the victim and with what he did, he began crying and asked for mercy.
