Two Pakistanis allegedly stole the number plates of their manager’s car that had been parked in front of the company’s office in Jebel Ali for three months, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Other two Pakistanis and an Indian identified as JAM, 25, PRO, RSA, 25, cashier, and MKS, 28, wall paper fixer, are accused of  possessing the stolen number plates.

OD, 56, Indian secretary, testified that manager of the company where she worked, called her from abroad and asked her to remove the cover from his car parked in front of the company because he was intending to come to Dubai and use the car.

“As I was removing the cover, I noticed that the number plates in the front and back were missing. The car had been parked there from October 2011 to January 2012 when the manager was outside the country,” she reported to the police.

In January 2012, police arrested the three accused as well as ZAS, 31, sales manager and NAK, 42, businessman, for a robbery in Muraqqabat area and found the two number plates in their house.

ZAS and NAK confessed to stealing the number plates of the car of their employer.

The court will reconvene on November 14.
