Three Afghans allegedly smashed the window of a parked car and stole a laptop computer and a mobile phone from the vehicle, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
The victim, AW, 33, Algerian, testified that he had stopped his car in the parking lot of the traffic police office in Al Barsha, locked its doors and went in to finish some official work.
“When I returned to the car, I noticed that the rectangular glass at the rear was broken. When I opened the door of the car, I noticed that my laptop worth Dh3,000 and BlackBerry of Dh850 were missing,” he testified.
From the fingerprints on the car, police identified the accused as IDS, a 30-year-old jobless man.
Police also arrested IAF, 30, jobless, who admitted to breaking into the car and stealing the laptop and the mobile phone with the help of IDS and NSD, 27, clerk.
“My jobs was to take the things from the car after IDS had broken the glass. NSD’s role was to watch the area,” IAF said.
Both NSD and IDS denied the accusation. However, Criminal Evidences reported that their finger prints were found on the car.
