A 20-year-old Saudi visitor attempted to kill a security staff at a night club who prevented him from entering because of his young age, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

After BS, 26, Egyptian, prevented MM from getting into the night club, the young visitor, who was drunk, insisted on entering although the guard explained to him that this is against the rules.

The visitor did not listen to the guard and so other guards intervened and prevented him from getting into the club.

Companions of the youth tried to calm him down as well as the guards, but he did not listen to anyone and took up a kebab skewer, wanting to fight with it.

The guards pushed the visitor out of the hotel while the youngster was abusing and cursing everyone.

The hotel’s management called the police and informed them about the incident.

Angry MM went to a nearby supermarket, bought a knife, returned to the hotel, and stabbed the guard in the upper back.

“I saw him pulling the knife from my colleague’s back and stepping back seeking to stab him again. I rushed to him and held his hand trying to get the knife from him. He resisted me, wanting to continue stabbing. My colleagues and I in the end succeeded in controlling him and I forced him to drop the knife from his hand,” said AS, 38, clerk in the hotel.

Police arrived and rushed the victim to hospital. Forensic reported that the stab was fatal considering its nature and location and the tool used.

MM is accused of premeditated murder attempt.

The court will reconvene on May 19.
