Two jobless Pakistanis were sentenced to two years in jail for breaking into a company’s office and stealing Dh23,800 from two safes.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance also ordered KA, 32, and WA, 23, to be deported after serving their jail terms.

According to the records, HR, 62, husband of the company’s owner, told the police that on November 23, he went to the company’s office and found its door broken.

The office was in a mess and two safes, one in the accounting section and the other in the operations room, were broken and the money in them stolen, so the police was informed.

Camera footage showed two men wearing masks entering the office holding a big pair of steel scissors. They carried the safes from the office to outside the camera’s range. The safes were found in another office where the thieves broke them open. The recording showed that they stayed in the office for about an hour.

Police found the pair of scissors in the company’s store. Two gloves and piece of cloth were found about 15 metres from the office.

Police investigated the complaint and arrested KA, 32, and WA, 23, in Sharjah. The two admitted to the theft and told the police that they planned it with the help of two accomplices who stayed outside the company to observe the area. They brought with a pair of scissors with them and other tools to break into the company which they did at around 1am.

Criminal Evidences reported that blood found on the piece of cloth matched with that of WA.
