Tiger Woods awards Dh150m deal

The Tiger Woods Dubai (TTWD) yesterday announced the signing of a Dh150-million contract with Dutco Balfour Beatty (DBB) for the completion of all commercial buildings at the Al Ruwaya Golf Club.

TTWD is a 55 million square feet private residential golf community project.

Under the deal, DBB will be responsible for the completion of the project's signature buildings, including the Al Ruwaya Clubhouse, Al Ruwaya Golf Academy, three on-course sanctuaries, and the golf maintenance complex. The contract covers all external construction and major interior fit-out.

DBB?started mobilising works on TTWD site in July this year. By the end of September, a workforce of 500 will be on site working simultaneously on the clubhouse, golf academy, and the sanctuaries.

The 145,000-sq ft Al Ruwaya Clubhouse is the centrepiece of the development, offering views over the 18th, 16th, 10th, and 1st holes. Additionally, the Clubhouse will host a Tiger Woods Memorabilia Gallery, a themed restaurant and a 2,200-sq ft pro shop, among other private members-only facilities.

DBB, a member of the Dutco group, has been instrumental in the progress of work at TTWD since the project's launch in 2007.
