ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steelmaker, won a licence to prospect for iron ore in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand, the Press Trust of India reported, citing Mines Minister BK Handique. The company received permission to explore for the steel making raw material in about 662.95 hectares of land in the Karampada region of the state, PTI reported. The area is estimated to have reserves of about 200 million tonnes of ore, the report said.
