Arab online community maktoob.com has launched a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, English-language news service – Maktoob Business (business.maktoob.com).

Driven by a flagship editorial team, Maktoob Business focuses on regional and international business and related content.

"With nearly 15 million visitors per month, Maktoob has proven its expertise in creating online communities. Maktoob Business is a valuable information hub, with an active community of regional business leaders who interact with their industry peers," said Maktoob.com's GM, Ahmed Nassef.

Maktoob Business has brought in senior business and news journalists for their understanding of Middle Eastern business. The editorial team includes former Editorial Director of ArabianBusiness.com and Deputy Editor of Dow Jones Financial News; the former ITP News Journalist of the Year and Deputy Editor of ArabianBusiness.com; and former Editor of Saudi's Arab News.

"Maktoob Business has engaged a team of industry-leading journalists in Dubai, with supporting teams in Jordan and the US to provide round-the-clock news coverage," said David Westley, Director, Maktoob Business.

"Be it business, sports, political or social news, Maktoob Business offers comprehensive and insightful commentary. This is backed-up by a sophisticated navigation system that offers readers greater refinement, speed and accuracy of news delivery. For advertisers, this means targeted, measurable and cost effective activity."

Maktoob is the Arab World's largest web content company and, by traffic to the site, is ranked 150th globally. The website was founded in 2000 as the world's first Arabic/English e-mail service. Today Maktoob has grown to become a full-service web portal, offering world-class communications and information tools empowering Arab users. More than just the best and most popular Arabic/English e-mail service, it offers chat and discussion forums, e-cards and mobile downloads, too.
