MTV Arabia says it will sponsor Coldplay's show

MTV Arabia, the Middle East's leading music and entertainment channel, announced its sponsorship of Coldplay in the group's first performance in the region as part of its 'Viva La Vida Tour' in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

Coldplay has sold more than 30 million records worldwide and has been called one of the most famous rock bands of the new millennium, rocketing to success in 2000 with the single Yellow from their debut album Parachutes.

Samr Al Marzouqi, Channel Manager, MTV Arabia, said: "MTV Arabia is a gateway for international artists to the UAE and to the Middle East. Following on the tours of Kylie Minogue, Fatboy Slim and Maroon 5, MTV Arabia is excited to be involved in the Coldplay concert in the region."
