High definition images will embrace the television sets in the UAE soon, revealed E-vision CEO Humaid Rashid Sahoo Al Suwaidi on the eve of Cabsat Mena, that opens tomorrow at the Dubai International Conference and Exhibition Centre.
"E-vision will be revealing the future of broadcasting at the Cabsat, and I can tell you its very bright and in high definition," said Al Suwaidi in exclusive interview with Emirates Business.
"We have been working on new technology, new platforms and very new modes of television entertainment and very soon it will be becoming a reality," said the CEO.
Most important of those is the arrival of high definition technology, which is to be telecast to UAE homes in very near future. "We are equipped to handle the technology, special decoders are here, waiting to be distributed, in fact, we are only waiting for TV channels to provide us with content in high definition," confirmed Al Suwaidi about the future of television broadcasting in the region.
In addition, E-vision will introduce the element of interactivity between the TV and the viewers. Explaining the concept, Al Suwaidi said: "Our intention is to give our consumer total control over what he or she wants to watch and when he wants to watch.
"You don't have to watch the programme just because it's coming at a time when you have the time to watch TV. This interactivity with your TV will enable you to pre-schedule your desired programmes, at your choice of time and you can in fact watch the programme even if it's at a time when you are watching another programme," said Al Suwaidi.
Carrying on the onus of innovation in the region, E-vision also rediscovers the "True Video on Demand".
Differentiating between the regular video-on-demand and the all-new True Video on Demand, Al Suwaidi said, with more than 500 hours of good quality programmes that include movies and sport programmes, the consumer will have a wide variety available to them, which is as big as any video library. "You don't need to pick a movie out of the few choices that are available on regular intervals, but in fact browse the entire collection and choose various programmes to be watched at different intervals of time," said Al Suwaidi.
Messaging will be yet another new feature to be introduced by E-vision that will bring in new levels of customer service to the region that matches international standards.
A small envelope icon on your TV screen will convey to the consumer about a message waiting to be opened and that can be anything from your favorite programme to the most regular of chores, like the payment of E-vision bills.
Now that, according to E-vision is a future or broadcasting with extreme interactivity.
