The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) Office is to provide integrated services for journalists at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) through its sponsorship of the media centre at the event.
This will be the third year running that the DSF Office has backed the centre and it has reached an agreement with the event's organisers to extend its support for a further three years.
"The sponsorship of the ATM media centre is one of many initiatives undertaken to promote Dubai Summer Surprises 2008, the Dubai Shopping Festival 2009 and the Modhesh brand in a unique way," said Khulood Al Thani, the DSF Office's Marketing Manager.
"While the DSF Office will have an individual stand this year our sponsorship of the media centre will enable us to reach out to a key segment of our stakeholders – journalists. The DSF Office will provide a high level of media services to journalists and media members from around the world. These include the latest communications equipment and standby personnel to assist journalists in their efforts to cover the ATM."
Rana Ghazi, the DSF Office's communications and public relations manager, said: "Through this initiative we hope to strengthen our relationship with media members. Over the past couple of years we have been able to expand our presence in numerous countries with the help of the media.
"In the coming years the media will play a significant role in disseminating the key messages of the DSF Office to a wider audience locally, regionally, and globally."
The four-day travel and tourism expo runs from Tuesday until Friday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event is expected to attract 24,000 industry players from more than 100 countries in addition to a large number of journalists and reporters from regional and international media organisations.
The DSF Office's Dubai Summer Surprises promotion celebrates its eleventh year in 2008 and is gearing up to unveil a wide range of entertainment events. The campaign begins on June 19 and runs until August 22.
