The Dubai Municipality is building several new parks in different parts of the city including a Quran Park which will be built with plants and fruits mentioned in the Holy Quran and a major park with sports and entertainment facilities in Hatta.
Sources in the General Projects Department of Dubai Municipality said the Quran Park would be a unique project and consist of many medicinal plants, fruits and vegetables referred in the Holy Quran.
The Municipality is also adding outdoor sports and fitness equipment to all existing and future parks.
Quran has given reference to many types of plants, fruits and vegetables. The proposed Quran Park in the Al Khawaneej area will contain olive trees and other plants. The park will also have several themes of Quranic stories. The Park is tentatively named as The Holy Quran Park, which will be an environmental masterpiece and a tourist attraction. The Park will explain the meanings of Quran and the many miracles and life in the desert mentioned in in the Holy Quran.
Other new park projects planned by the Municipality includes two new parks in Nazwa and Al Hebab and a major park and community facilities in Hatta on a six hectares of land. The Hatta Park, the largest of the proposed park projects by Dubai Municipality, will develop on three plots with jogging tracks, play area for different age groups, plazas and sport courts for football, tennis and other multipurpose facilities. "There will be main plazas, entrance plazas, footpath seating areas, pergolas and sport courts in the two parks. The development will be linked to the road network through Dubai Hatta Road and Al Awir Road," said Municipality sources.
The Municipality has started a greenery project that shall be completed in four phases planting 10,000 trees in each phase.
