Every child’s favourite mini Spanish teacher is arriving in Dubai this week to perform in the region for the very first time.

Dora the Explorer – the Latina heroine of the renowned televised character series – will appear with her best friend Boots in Dora The Explorer Live Show at Mirdif City Centre’s Central Galleria from July 6 to July 21.

Dora The Explorer has enjoyed great success since it first debuted on kids TV channel, Nickelodeon in August 2000.

The show, which has aired an impressive 111 episodes so far, is about a young girl who embarks on a colourful adventure with her trusty monkey, Boots, seeking out lost robots, magic wands, and valuable lessons on self-esteem.

She asks the viewers at home to help her find new ways to reach places with the help of Map, as well as introducing them to Spanish short words and phrases.

Dora The Explorer has proved to be such a successful brand that according to Slate magazine, the show and its licensed goods – toys, paper plates, wallets… you name it – have brought in an estimated $2 billion (Dh7.3bn) worldwide since 2000.

Meanwhile, another popular Nickelodeon character, SpongeBob SquarePants, will appear at the Stories of SpongeBob show at Dubai Festival City from July 22 to August 7.
