New directory of Gulf businesswomen

The first specialised economic encyclopaedia of businesswomen in the Gulf will be issued by the Emirates Business Women Council to mark the UAE's 39th National Day and the accession day of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The encyclopaedia, in both English and Arabic, will be available as an e-book on the council's website, it said yesterday.

Sheikha Hind bin Abdul Aziz Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Emirates Business Women Council, said the encyclopaedia is a new information and media achievement that shows the development in the role of women in business, especially in the trading sector. It also reflects the role they play in the private sector and in its various activities that form a vital source of the UAE's GDP.
