The Red Bull Air Race World Championship will bring more than its usual high-flying action to the UAE capital this year.

The highly anticipated race return will take off with a concert co-headlined by Arab superstars Nancy Ajram and Ramy Ayach, supported by Egyptian pop rockers Wust El Balad, on February 28, at the Abu Dhabi Corniche.

In a message to her fans in the UAE, Nancy said: “The concert will be a night to remember on the Abu Dhabi Corncihe. I am thrilled to be performing in the UAE capital again, especially in the context of such an adrenaline packed event as the Red Bull Air Race.”

The action packed calendar for the zone will include a number of appearances by Drift King Abdo Feghali, Stunt Bike Rider Shadi Al Dhaheri, Spanish flatlands biker Viki Gomez and Romanian trial biker Robert Kovacs.

A thrill seeker himself, Ayach did not hide his excitement and said: "It’s wonderful to be part of such an exciting event. I’m looking forward to take part in the festivities of Red Bull Air Race and to perform my latest hits for the crowds on the beach in Abu Dhabi, and I hope everyone will enjoy it."

Having been the season-opening round six times in a row between 2005 and 2010, Abu Dhabi is no stranger to the Red Bull Air Race - the UAE capital has hosted the largest number of races after Budapest, Hungary, since the World Championship’s 2003 inception.

While all Red Bull Air Race ticketholders will automatically get access to the concert non-ticketholders will be able to buy concert tickets separately.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship, presented in the UAE capital in partnership with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), features the world’s best race pilots in a pure motorsport competition that combines speed, precision and skill.

Using the fastest, most agile and lightweight racing planes, pilots navigate a low-level aerial track made up of air-filled pylons 25 metres high at speeds of up to 370 kmh.

The competition is expected to be even more intense in 2014 as all 12 pilots will be using a standardised engine and propeller, intensifying the focus on pilot skill and precision flying through the high-G turns in the challenging race courses.

Grandstand tickets are Dh195 and give holders access on both days and admission to the red Bull Air Race concert.

Race Club tickets are Dh850 and grant holders access on both Qualifying Day (February 28, 2014) and Race Day (March 1, 2014) in addition to admission to the Red Bull Air Race concert.
