Bollywood's Rekha set for TV debut

When Rekha wowed fans around the world with new pictures of her still-sizzling figure last month, we knew it was a sign the ageless actress wants to work again.

Her last film – this April’s “Saadiyan” – bombed at the box-office and she hasn’t signed anything else. The last time the 56-year-old was on screen was in 2007, where she played herself in “Om Shanti Om”.

But according to rumours drifting in from Bollywood, she could be starring opposite Kabir Bedi on television soon. Producer Harry Baweja is reportedly in talks with the legendary actress for “Ganga Ki Deej”, which is thought to be a soap set in rural India.

Madam Re, as the Indian media refers to her, has been linked to several TV projects in the past, but hasn’t actually done anything. In an interview last year, though, she hinted that she was finally ready for the small screen. “I've already formulated what I want to do. It’s nothing that has been seen on television before. No talk show or game show for me, thanks. It’s something entirely unique. But until I decide on the channel and other details, I’d like to keep it under wraps. As you know this world is filled with clones, copycats and wannabes,” she had said.
