Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger want a "big family" together, and are already "planning" on having children.

The happy couple tied the knot over the weekend, and sources have said they're already discussing having children together, as author Katherine - who is the daughter of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger - comes from a big family, and wants her own lives to mimic her upbringing.

An insider told 'Entertainment Tonight': "Katherine and Chris are so happy to be married and are planning to go on a honeymoon very soon. The couple is planning to have kids, and doing so is important to them. Chris loves children and Katherine comes from a big family and wants the same."

Chris, 39, already has six-year-old son Jack with his ex-wife Anna Faris, but Katherine does not have children yet.

The comments come after the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star previously said he could see "lots of kids" in his future with Katherine.

He said in January: "The future? Oh. Lots of kids. Maybe less time spent working, more time spent enjoying life."

Earlier this week, it was claimed the couple - who got engaged in January this year - had a "dreamy" wedding in Montecito, California, with sources saying their families couldn't be happier for them.

One insider claimed: "Katherine smiled so sweetly through the vows and at the reception she laughed nonstop. They know this all happened so fast but it just feels right. At the party, she told an old friend that Chris is her soulmate."

"Their families both clearly support their marriage. And as tough as [her father] Arnold Schwarzenegger seems, he was actually tearing up during the ceremony. Rob Lowe and Katherine's brother, Patrick, were chatting about how happy they were for the newlyweds."

The 29-year-old daughter of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger married the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star in an intimate wedding ceremony on Saturday (08.06.19), and sources have now said she "can't believe how much her life has changed" since she met the star.

A source said: "She's still feeling emotional and overwhelmed by the weekend, in a good way. She loves saying 'husband'. She can't believe how much her life has changed since meeting Chris."

And the insider says Chris, 39, is just as ecstatic about the marriage.

They added to People magazine: "He was very clear with his intentions from the start and she has never felt so loved and safe. They both feel so blessed to have found each other."

The couple previously took to social media to share snaps of their wedding day, with Chris describing the nuptials as "moving and emotional".

He wrote: "Yesterday was the best day of our lives!

We became husband and wife in front of God, our families and those we love. It was intimate, moving and emotional. We feel so blessed to begin this new chapter of our lives. We are so thankful to our families and our friends who stood with us and grateful to Mr. Giorgio Armani who created a once in a lifetime dress for Katherine to wear and for me, the perfect suit. This morning we feel nothing but blessed. (sic)"

The ceremony was attended by Katherine's parents, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, as well as Chris' six-year-old son Jack, whom he has with ex-wife Anna Faris.

Guests were treated to cocktails on the lawn, and they were also entertained by a live band.

A source shared: "They are using only local food. It's a lot of fresh vegetables. They didn't want the menu to be too heavy, or rich. It's more of a light summer menu.

"For dessert, there are lighter options as well like raspberries, blueberries and red currant."

Chris, 39, was previously married to fellow Hollywood star Anna Faris, but they separated in July 2017, with Chris announcing the news via his Facebook account.

He wrote at the time: "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed."

"Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward."

Following a whirlwind romance, Chris announced his engagement to Katherine on Instagram in January.

He said on the photo-sharing platform: "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I'm thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go"
