Katherine Schwarzenegger is "super happy" about her engagement to Chris Pratt, her mother Maria Shriver has revealed.

The 'Jurassic World' actor proposed to the 29-year-old author earlier this month after six months of dating and though she doesn't want her family to spill the details of her relationship, her mother Maria Shriver - who has Katherine, Christina, 27, Patrick, 25, and Christopher, 21, with former husband Arnold Schwarzenegger - admitted her oldest child couldn't be happier.

Speaking on 'Today', Maria said: "She's super happy and gave me super strict instructions not to talk about it ... It's not my moment.

"She wants to have her moment."

Maria previously publicly congratulated the couple on their engagement via a comment on Instagram.

She wrote: "Congratulations to two loving, kind, caring, thoughtful, spiritual people. We are so happy for you. You are blessed, as is everyone who knows you. Yes, let's go."

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old star's ex-wife, Anna Faris, has also sent her blessings to the couple - and even offered to officiate their wedding.

She said: "Chris texted me this morning and he was like, 'I proposed to Katherine last night.' And I was like, 'Ahh, that's amazing.' I texted him back like, 'I just wanted to remind you I'm an ordained minister.' "

And the 'Mom' actress - who has son Jack, six, with Chris - is "so happy" the couple were able to "find" one another because she thinks they're so well suited.

She added: "I'm so happy for them. I knew that it was gonna happen and I love her and I love him and I'm just so happy that they found each other."

It was recently claimed the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' after "instantly" felt close to his fiancee's family and it helped their relationship grow quickly.

A source said: "For someone on the outside, it might seem their engagement came too quickly. But for everyone close to them, it feels like they have been dating much longer than they actually have.

"They never had a typical relationship. It very much helped that Chris already knew Maria. They didn't have to take things slowly because they were getting to know each other's families. Katherine's family instantly treated Chris like a family member."

The 39-year-old actor got engaged to the author - who is the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver - over the weekend, and sources have said that although they only began dating in June, the engagement doesn't feel "quick" for them because their close family bond made it seem like they had been together for years.

A source told People magazine: "For someone on the outside, it might seem their engagement came too quickly. But for everyone close to them, it feels like they have been dating much longer than they actually have.

"They never had a typical relationship. It very much helped that Chris already knew Maria. They didn't have to take things slowly because they were getting to know each other's families. Katherine's family instantly treated Chris like a family member."

Not only did the pair have a short relationship before getting engaged, but they could have an even shorter engagement, as it was recently claimed they're planning their wedding for this summer.

Another insider said: "They are one of those rare couples that you root for from the beginning. It won't be a long engagement - Katherine has already talked about having a summer 2019 wedding.

"They're going to want a religious wedding. I know that Chris does, and I assume that she does, too. God is going to be a part of this marriage."

'Jurassic World' star Chris shared the news of their engagement on social media over the weekend, with a picture of him and 29-year-old Katherine hugging, with her engagement ring on display.

Alongside the snap, he wrote: "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I'm thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!"

Katherine later reposted the photo to her own Instagram, adding: "My sweet love. Wouldn't want to live this life with anyone but you."

For the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star, the upcoming wedding will mark his second, after he was previously wed to Anna Faris - with whom he has six-year-old son Jack - for eight years before they split in 2017 and finalised their divorce in November.

As part of his divorce settlement with ex-wife Anna Faris - with whom he has six-year-old son Jack - Chris has to live no more than five miles apart from the 'Overboard' star and their little boy.

The actor lived in the Hollywood Hills with Anna, and she is also believed to have moved to west Los Angeles.

Last week, the 39-year-old star shared a video of him helping to move Katherine out of her Santa Monica home.

Chris captioned the Instagram clip: "I love moving!! Picking up heavy things and moving them into the back of a truck was my major in college! (Full disclosure Chris Pratt did not go to a moving college but he did went to community college for a hot second). Point being... Need a dryer moved? Call Chris. Almost nobody in LA even has a truck so every time they have something to move they call me. Hey Chris, you still got that truck? "Oh hell yeah!!!

"Now I have a brand new truck thanks to @chevrolet !" DM me with your location and what you need moved and I will be over very soon in my new Silverado.

Chris Pratt planning a summer wedding

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are planning a summer wedding for this year, despite only getting engaged over the weekend.

A source said: "They are one of those rare couples that you root for from the beginning. It won't be a long engagement - Katherine has already talked about having a summer 2019 wedding."

Chris, 39, and Katherine, 29, are also reportedly planning a "religious wedding", as the pair bonded over their shared Christian faith when they started dating back in June last year.

The source added to People magazine: "They're going to want a religious wedding. I know that Chris does, and I assume that she does, too. God is going to be a part of this marriage."

The news comes after it was claimed earlier this week that the couple had already begun planning their big day.

A source said: "[They are] already starting to plan. They are thinking about Martha's Vineyard which is a special place for Katherine and where she spent a lot of time growing up. Chris wants her to have her perfect day and whatever she wants. It will be a big wedding and very traditional.

She wrote: "I'm so happy for you both!! Congratulations!"

Katherine Schwarzenegger engaged to Chris Pratt

Katherine Schwarzenegger says she "wouldn't want to live this life" with anyone other than Chris Pratt.

The 29-year-old author - who is the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver - got engaged to 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Chris over the weekend, and has now taken to social media to gush over her new fiancé.

After Chris shared a picture on Instagram on Sunday of the pair hugging and showing off Katherine's ring, the writer shared the same picture on Monday, with the caption: "My sweet love. Wouldn't want to live this life with anyone but you."

Chris, 39, had originally written alongside the snap: Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I'm thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!"

The happy couple have been dating since June, and comes as Chris' first romance since his ex-wife Anna Faris - with whom he has six-year-old son Jack - whom he was married to for eight years before they split in 2017 and finalised their divorce in November.

But despite their split, Anna and Chris have no bad blood between them, as the 'Mom' star - who is now dating Michael Barrett - commented on Chris' post to send her well wishes to the couple.

She wrote: "I'm so happy for you both!! Congratulations!"

Her comments come after recently said she and the 'Jurassic World' star "work really hard" to be supportive of each other in the wake of their split for the sake of their son.

She said: "Chris and I work really hard 'cause we have Jack, that is sort of the long game idea and making sure Jack is really happy, which makes us really happy. We have sort of the luxury of circumstance.

"You know, we are both in other loving relationships ... but it is ... it's like how do you not in general sink into a place of bitterness?

"I do want to reiterate though, that I acknowledge, we all do, everyone acknowledges, that there is bitterness and pain with all breakups and that hopefully makes us all human. But the long game is just the worst being the bigger person. It just is. It sucks until, then what happens though, is that everyone's happy."
