David Beckham to open chain of US restaurants

David Beckham wants to open his own chain of restaurants in America and named them 'Beckham's Bistro'.

The former soccer star, who is also looking to build a new 25,000 seater football stadium in Miami for his Major League Soccer franchise, wants to call his new business 'Beckham's Bistro', according to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper.

Speaking at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami last night, where he cheered on the England team during their World Cup warm up match with Honduras, he said: "It's got a good ring to it.

"It will be about dining. I'm a foodie and dining is a big part of this."

The 39-year-old hunk and wife Victoria, 40, are looking to expand their business interests in the US and are friends with chef Gordon Ramsay, who already has three restaurants in Las Vegas.

David, who has children Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 11, Cruz, nine, and two-year-old daughter Harper with Victoria, reportedly pulled out of investing in Gordon's Union Street Cafe in London last year after a difference of opinion.

A source previously said: "They may be best friends, but they are also very astute businessmen and both wanted different things.

"Becks was ready to make an investment and had visited the site. But they both talked long and hard and have decided not to work together on this occasion."

David has been described as a "great cook" who has learned a lot about French and Italian dishes over the years and also "loves a British pie".
