'Aashiqui 2' singer arrested on alleged rape charges

Ankit Tiwari, the musician who shot to fame for composing and singing the song, "Sunn Raha Hai Na Tu", from 'Aashiqui 2', has been arrested by the Mumbai  police under rape charges.

India news channel NDTV reports that his brother, Ankur Tiwari, has also been taken into custody by Versova police.

Citing a source, the charges read that the 28-year-old victim was on holiday in Mumbai and met the Tiwaris through a common friend.

On May 7, the victim alleged the brothers entered the home where she was residing and Ankit raped the girl while Ankur held a knife on her neck threatening her if she reported it to the authorities.

The matter is under investigation.
