Why is social media crucifying 'Angel' Taher Shah?

His latest video is no less than eighth wonder of the world. Dressed like an angel (if that's how they dress), Taher is seen wearing floor-length gown, plastered with at least an inch of makeup.

Please don't miss his unshaved chest and the diamond tiara.

The song's simple lyrics, "Angel, mankind, angel, mankind, angel...I am like an angel, mankind's angel, lonely for you" have captured the attention of social media users, generating a number of memes mocking Taher's talent, and insulting his dedication.

Oh why, oh why, oh why we ask?

When the mass opinion is against this 'sensational' singer (his bio says so) despite the song receiving over 2 million "official views within just 48 hours", we want to stand up for him and advocate this singer.

You and me might never see 'Eye to Eye' after this but for mankind and his lonely battle as a singer, let us try to find something good in this 'Angel'.

How many of us dare of follow our dream? This businessman from Karachi, Pakistan, with his lush long hair and unconventional costumes, turned to making music and followed his dream.

His first release 'Eye to Eye' propelled him into the world of online fame in 2013. It doesn't matter he became a laughing stock then. But did you know that even Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh dedicated a Dubsmash on the same song and shared it on Twitter? It is worth a watch and I guarantee you will be left ROFL.

Taher Shah has over 46 thousand followers on Twitter and over a lakh fans on Facebook. He has just released two songs which were exclusively online, yet he's breaking the internet. Kim Kardashian should notice this Angel right now.

And he has been trending worldwide since 'Angel' released.

He has a heart full of love. How else can anyone survive the onslaught of such insults and yet post this loving message, "Gratitude To All Worldwide Fans True Love & Affection as their appreciation makes the *ANGEL* song a phenomenal Blockbuster hit of 2016." We need to know what he has been eating or smoking.

Despite the poor lyrics and the outrageous visuals, Taher Shah continues to amuse and entertain. The fact that he can't sing and his videos suck is beside the point.

One needs to applaud his never say die attitude.

How many of us dare to sing with such a terrible voice and come out with a scary video? He deserves all our respect.

You may laugh at him but this man knows how to appreciate his hard work and has given full marks to himself for the song he has written, sung and directed.

Taher Shah is not a complicated man and his music is testimony of that. The lyrics of his songs are simple words set to music. He means what he says, but you and I may not know or understand what he means.

He repeats few words throughout the song, which makes it easier for everyone to understand and remember.

Sample this – "Eye to eye, makes happy killer love, lifetime, once in a life. Substantial love is heaven for the size eyes. Spectacular eyes, our eyes, my eyes and your eyes, eye to eye, eye to eye".

And there's another reason to respect this singer. "Given that Pakistanis have few occasions to bond and laugh, now that our cricket team has no hope of winning anything, Taher Shah is our saviour," tweeted Talat Aslam, a music reviewer and journalist.

A reviewer wrote on social media, "If you tell me that Angel is just another song then I will tell you that you’re a liar. It is the seed of an idea; a glimmer of hope from which intellectual mileage can be drawn. I pondered over Angel with all my reasoning powers and arrived at the conclusion that Taher Shah is a phenomenon that simply cannot be grasped.”

We agree!

And now, let me show what Taher has been subjected to after his service to mankind. My respect for him has increased manifold.
