Megan Gale is the new face of L'Oreal Paris

Megan Gale was announced as the new face of L'Oreal Paris at a dazzling gala ceremony in Sydney last night According to the Herald Sun the Australian model and television host made her grand entrance stepping through a giant L'Oreal sign before hundreds of guests.

Dressed in a striking floor-length gown designed especially for her by her Project Runway co-host Alex Perry, the smouldering Gale was a vision as the lady in red.

She said the deal with the cosmetics giant was the Holy Grail of the modelling world.

"When you start modelling you have certain goals. For me, it was Italian Vogue, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition... but the Holy Grail is a cosmetics contract with a global cosmetics company," she said.

It makes for a spectacular start to her birthday celebrations, with Gale turning 36 on Sunday.

L'Oreal Paris general manager Mark O'Keefe said Gale represented the ideal "modern woman."
