The January 2010 killing of Hamas commander Mahmoud Al Mabhouh in Dubai by hitmen will be turned into a Hollywood film soon.
Inspired by the real life incidents surrounding the last few days of Al Mabhouh’s life in Dubai, the movie is reportedly picked by Sony Pictures and would be written and produced by Iranian Oscar nominee Hussain Amini.
The controversial execution drama staged by a 17-member gang would be turned into a high-octane action flick titled ‘Shadow Runner’ and is slated for a 2014 release, Xpress reported.
The movie will star Australian actor Chris Hemsworth of Thor fame and is likely to be shot mostly in Dubai, however, a director has not been named yet.
The hitmen who entered Dubai using used fake British, Irish and Australian passports, were subsequently identified on closed circuit television cameras and the footage was broadcast worldwide as part of the investigation by Dubai Police.
