Rani Mukerji, Aditya Chopra married secretly; Bride's message to fans

Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji were finally united in wedlock on the night of April 21, in Italy.

Confirming the same, Rafiq Gangjee, Vice President. Marketing & Communications YRF says, "We are happy to announce that Mr. Aditya Chopra and Ms. Rani Mukerji got married last night on 21st April in Italy. The wedding was a very small intimate affair with very close family and friends,"

Yash Raj Films has also tweeted: "Aditya Chopra & Rani Mukerji got married last night on 21st April in Italy. We wish the couple a very  happy married life."

Rani's team also sent out an official statement on the wedding.

Here is what the actress had to say, "I would like to share the happiest day of my life with all my fans all over the world whose love and blessings have been part of my journey all these years.

"I know that all my well-wishers who have waited for this day will be really happy for me. It was a beautiful wedding in the Italian countryside with just a few of our close family and friends with us.

"The one person I missed terribly was Yash Uncle, but I know he was there with us in spirit and his love and blessings will always be with Adi and me.

"I have always believed in fairy-tales and with God’s grace my life has been exactly like one, and now as I enter the most important chapter of my life - the fairy-tale continues."

Emirates24|7 had earlier reported that Aditya may have shifted into Rani's house and wedding was on the cards soon.

Neighbours at the exclusive locale of the Theosophical Colony, bang opposite the old Yash Raj Films office have been seeing a certain Mr Aditya Chopra on a daily basis and round the clock.

More enquiries revealed that the twain have perhaps been living together with the head of the Yash Raj Studio having shifted homes.

For years now, Rani has been playing the hostess/elder daughter-in-law role in the Chopra family. Insiders says Rani calls the shots in the YRF office and taken charge of family matters.

The couple has been dating for years, though they never came out in public to acknowledge their relationship.

Reports about Rani and Aditya tying the knot have been doing the rounds forever. It was also reported that the couple might tie the knot at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.

But it seems they wanted to escape the media frenzy and paparazzi training the cameras on them and flew down to Italy to tie the knot.
