The American Pie Gang is back!

Whether you loved it, hated it, or worshiped its naive teenage mantra, 'American Pie' is back. Reported to be titled 'American Reunion,' the fourth movie in the series will be centered around Jim and Michelle's pregnancy, and the lives of the now 30 year-old group of friends.

Universal, the studio behind the sequel, has already nabbed main characters Jason Biggs (Jim), Alyson Hannigan (Michelle), and Seann William Scott (Stifler), with Chris Klein (Oz) and Tara Reid (Vicky) also reportedly wanting in on a piece of the pie.

If plans go ahead it is likely that we will also see more of 'Stifler's mom,' as actress Jennifer Coolidge is alleged to have expressed interest in the flick.

While Universal has been in talks with Mena Suvari, it is unconfirmed as to whether she too will reunite with the 'Pie' gang.

While the original 'American Pie' film propelled most of the cast into international stardom and big-budget movie roles, their initial success has since fizzled with most of the cast now flying under the radar.

Jason Biggs and Chris Klein went on to star in mostly B-grade movies and straight to DVD, while Seann William Scott found slightly more success with 'Old School,' 'The Dukes of Hazard' and the animated 'Iceage' film series.

The ladies arguably outdid their male counterparts, with Alyson Hannigan going on to star in the hit TV series 'How I Met Your Mother,' and Mena Suvari in five-time Academy Award winning 'American Beauty.'

In saying this, Suvari's career has all but faded-out, with the actress only making one film since 2008. And whatever happened to Shannon Elizabeth, aka the Czechoslovakian exchange student?

Thus, the reunion would be to the benefit of the entire original cast.

So why do you care? The American Pie franchise was iconic as a (possibly skewed) representation of American teenage culture in its day, and it would be a good way to round off the story with the gang now living adult lives.

Not to mention the biggest question of all, does Paul Finch finally end up with Stiffler's mum?

The film is due to be released at the end of 2012.
