Tom Cruise may soon return for another adventure as agent Ethan Hunt.

The makers of super hit ‘Mission Impossible’ franchise have hinted at the possibility of a fifth movie in the series at the shareholder meeting of the Paramount Pictures parent, the Hollywood reporter said.

When asked by a shareholder if there were "any plans to develop an additional sequel, Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman said, "Oh, yes."

"Ghost Protocol", which also starred Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor in a guest role, raked in $ 679.6 million worldwide, making it Cruise's top-grossing movie ever.

The Brad Bird-directed Ghost Protocol, which hit theaters December 16, was written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec.

It is not yet clear whether Bird or the Ghost Protocol writers would be back for the fifth film in the franchise.

Brian De Palma directed the first "Mission: Impossible" film, which was released in 1996. John Woo helmed 2000's "Mission: Impossible II", and J J Abrams directed "MI:3" in 2006.
