Armoured car producer and modifier Xenatec hopes the Middle East will account for ten per cent of the sales of its new Maybach Coupé.

The new car, based on the 57 S, is now available for order in the Middle East, Frank Mauersberger, Managing Partner and Regional Director of Xenatec Middle East & Africa, told Emirates247.com.

The coupé has been created by Exelero designer Fredrik Burchhardt and only 100 units will be made, the company said.

Mauersberger estimates the appetite for these cars is so high that ten of these vehicles could be sold in the region.

They are on sale priced €675,000 (Dh3.44 million) excluding taxes, but with each unit built by hand in Germany to customers’ specifications, the final bill could well depend on the depth of your pockets. Orders will be delivered three months from the date of purchase, Mauersberger said. "We envision our coupé revolutionising the luxury vehicle segment," he said.

The evolution from limousine to coupé involved major changes to the bodywork of the Maybach 57S, as well as the interior. No alterations however were made to the drivetrain or to the 12-cylinder car's performance, which can reach a top speed of 275 kmph. It has been given a sportier silhouette and can is available with either 20- or 21-inch wheels.
