A magnificent million-dollar natural pearl and diamond suite of jewellery made by Bogh-Art, the Geneva-based contemporary jewellers, leads Christie’s Jewels and Watches sale in Dubai on October 27, along with an important private collection of parures.
Following the success of April’s first offering of art deco jewellery in the Middle East, the auction will also include an impressive art deco ruby and diamond necklace made around 1930.
They will be offered alongside a dazzling selection of coloured stones, rare gems, stunning diamonds and limited edition watches with intricate complications, from some of the world's finest watchmakers.
The sale will once again lure collectors from around the Middle East to this twice yearly social highlight.
A private collection of more than 40 parures, or jewellery suites, the largest selection ever to be sold at auction, is also part of the sale and is presented in its own catalogue.
Highlights of the collection include a fine 26 carat cabochon Kashmir sapphire ring along with two important cabochon Ceylon sapphires of 180 carat and 130 carat, all three stones are natural with no heat treatment and all lots will be offered without reserve.
David Warren, International Director and Head of the Middle Eastern Jewellery Department, said: “This season our sale contains a rich variation of jewels, from the classic lines and craftsmanship of art deco, to top contemporary jewels from European and Middle Eastern designers, coloured diamonds, rare gems including the second largest orange melo pearl to be offered at auction and finally the important single owner collection of fabulous parures."
