11 bus stops: How you get there

The 11 stations of Dubai Tram will be served by 11 bus stops, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has said.

Dubai Tram will officially be inaugurated tonight, November 11, and will open for the public tomorrow.

Forming part of the wider transportation network, it boasts several connections to other transportation modes, with the bus network being the most prominent.

Although not all tram stations are currently connected to the bus network, 11 bus stations can be found along the route, and several bus lines will serve the stations.

Along Al Sufouh Road, bus lines 8, 84, 88, F37 and F55A operate.

The bus routes 8, 84, and F55A serve the stations Mina Al Siyahi (7), Dubai Media City (8) and Palm Jumeirah (9), where both networks also connect to the Monorail.

Bus route 8 heads towards the Gold Souq in one direction and towards Ibn Battuta Mall in the other direction, while bus route 84 runs between Al Khail Gate and Dubai Marina and feeder bus route F55A from Satwa to Al Maktoum International Airport.

At Knowledge Village Station (10) and Al Sufouh Station (11), the tram network is served by bus routes 8, 88, and F55A, with bus route 88 running between Nakheel Metro Station and Airport Terminal 3.

In the Marina area, the tram is set to become the main mode of transport.

While most of the area is currently served by bus route F37, this bus route will be cancelled once Dubai Tram is operative.

“Bus route F37 will be cancelled because it runs along the tram route for most of its part,” said Essa Abdul Rahman al Hashemi, Acting Director of Planning and Business Development at the RTA.

At the moment, F37 runs along tram stations Jumeirah Lakes Towers (3), Dubai Marina Mall (4), Dubai Marina (5), Dubai Marina Towers (6) and Mina Al Siyahi.

It is not clear when the route will be cancelled.

Dubai Tram is connected to Dubai Metro at two stations - Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Dubai Marina.

From tomorrow, Dubai Tram connections will be incorporated into RTA’s route planning app Wojhati, said Adel Shakeri, Director of Transportation Systems at the RTA.

All necessary information regarding the public transport means in the area, and the arrival times of those modes along with relevant stations will be available on the app, he said.

“As the new app has a feature to pinpoint the location of the customer automatically, it will be easy to have access and use the tram, and the rider can select the best option for arriving to the intended destination using the tram and public transit means in the area.”
