205 officers to book park rules violators in Dubai

Dubai Municipality has granted recently 205 of its officers legal authority to book those who violate rules and regulations with regards to general cleanliness in public parks.

Mohammed Fardan, head of parks section at the civic body, said : “The civic body has recently granted 205 officers legal power to book violators. They can now book those who pluck flowers, misuse facilities or cause damage to plants or lawns and throw waste in the six public parks in Dubai.”

He said the municipality may slap up to Dh500 as fine for these violations. The six public parks are, Zabeel, Mamazar, Mushrif, Safa, Jumeira and Creek parks.

He noted that this year so far near about 7.7 million persons visited Dubai’s parks, which is a 15 per cent rise over the previous year.
