3 suffer smoke inhalation in Al Ain building fire

A fire broke out in a commercial building on Oud Al Touba Street in Al Ain on Monday night at about 10.30pm.

According to a report in Al Khaleej, firefighters rushed to the site and evacuated 16 people. The blaze that broke out on the fourth floor had spred to the fifth floor apartment.

Lt Col Rashid Hamar Ain Al Darmaki, Director, Al Ain Civil department, said it took about two hours to douse the blaze.

Evidences from the site have been forwarded to the forensic laboratory to determine the cause.

Three people, including a firefighter, suffered smoke inhalation and were transferred to hospital.

Al Darmaki urged the public to comply with safety rules and regularly check electrical appliances at home.
