Following the success of the first edition in 2014, the UAE Quiz Masters Tournament 2015 has gone nation-wide and is welcoming participation from schools across the UAE, irrespective of the curricula they follow.

The quiz competition took place in the auditorium of the Credence High School Campus on Sunday, November 29, 2015. The second edition of the inter-school quiz competition for the Rolling Trophy attracted participation of 31 teams from 12 schools across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah emirates this year.

Credence High School, a leading CBSE curriculum school in Al Khail-Dubai, conducted on Sunday the Quiz Tournament at its auditorium that was packed with students from across the UAE, along with some of their parents and family members. Students of the winning and runner up teams were awarded individual trophies and certificates, along with gift vouchers and hampers. All participants received certificates and gift hampers.

The quiz master Aayush Rajasekaran, a young university student himself, managed to raise the benchmark of the quiz tournament from a traditional competition format to an entertaining day of interactive learning platform. Aayush, an ex-student of the Dubai school community, is currently the President of the University of Waterloo’s Quiz Bowl Club in Canada; and has been ranked among the highest quiz bowl players of North America.

Abdulla Nalapad, Chairman of Credence High School, presented the rolling trophy and awards to the winning teams. He congratulated the winners for their excellent performance and all participants for taking interest to showcase their caliber. Abdulla also shared his vision on the grand shape of the tournament in the years to come.

“The quiz received overwhelming response with more than 95 students in total from various schools in the UAE participating. The motive of organizing such a competition was to highlight the potential of students and to provide them exposure in the field of general knowledge in addition to equipping them to face challenges of professional and personal life. The participants displayed outstanding performance, and the winners were presented with trophy, certificates and gift vouchers,” he said.

Commenting on the contest, Kulbhushan Kain, Principal of Credence High School, said, “The day witnessed some of the finest standards of quizzing, with students outdoing each other in precise answers delivered within microseconds of the questions. The style and format adopted at the quiz allowed for an extremely competitive environment that called for aligning knowledge with speed.”

“During the programme, the rapport between the quiz master and the participating students was instantaneous and comfortable, with close interaction between him and the team members. This resulted in a lot of learning and exchange of information and knowledge far beyond the scope of a quiz contest. At Credence, we don’t just focus on empowering student with bookish knowledge, but also encourage their creative thought processes and analytical thinking. We launched the Quiz Masters Tournament last year, aimed at providing a great platform for students of schools across the UAE to exhibit their knowledge and skill, and steering them towards a bright future,” he elaborated on.
