Abu Dhabi University terminated 126 students who despite consecutive warnings did not show academic progress.
Professor James Maikan, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, was quoted by 'Al Ittihad' newspaper as saying Abu Dhabi University is commited to maintaining high academic quality, which will not be compromised at any cost.
Nevin Al Shura, Director of registeration at the University, said as per the university rules students who get three consecutive academic warnings will be terminated if they do not show progress at the undergraduate level.
The students did not have an aptitude for hard work and the ability to manage time, she added.
Dr Badr Abu El Ela, Director of academic accreditation of the Union, said the action taken was in accordance with the university's academic regulations, which are clearly mentioned during the admission and registraion process.
