Multiple accidents have been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road on Sunday morning, with motorists reporting 45-minute delays due to corresponding traffic snarls on the busy highway.

Two crashes were reported minutes apart on E11, both northbound towards World Trade Centre, approximately 8.15am.

The first was located after Gold and Diamond Park, according to several on social media, while an eyewitness reported the second under Al Safa Bridge.

ML stated: “I arrived on the scene shortly after the accident had been cleared, around 9am; however, the debris from the crash is still littered on the fast two lanes just after Al Safa Bridge, which is causing gridlock in the area.

“However, after the crash site, the traffic clears up considerably.”

Meanwhile, the crash near Interchange 4 on Sheikh Zayed Road has also resulted in tailbacks on to Hessa Street, with one Twitter user posting around 8.30am: “I am stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on D61 Hessa Street towards Sheikh Zayed Road just after Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Traffic moving very slowly. Be prepared.”

The parallel Umm Suqeim Road isn’t faring any better either, with commuters posting around 9am that the busy stretch is at a crawl due to a minor crash before Mall of the Emirates, heading towards E11.
