The sixth annual Al Ain Reads book show, organised by the National Library Division of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, will begin on Monday at Al Ain Convention Centre, Al Khabaisi, with more than sixty exhibitors displaying over 55,000 Arabic and English literary and scientific titles.
Running till November 2, Al Ain Reads 2014 highlights the experience of a group of Emirati writers and discusses a number of issues related to the local cultural landscape through a series of discussions panels, lectures, poetry evenings and book signing events.
A diverse educational programme will be dedicated to children aged 6 – 12 years old through the six-section Creativity Corner. Mixing fun with learning, several arts and handicraft workshops will be held under the supervision of highly trained professionals in cooperation with a number of educational and social institutions, according to the organisers.
The "Book Exchange" activities will continue at Al Ain Reads 2014, enabling visitors to trade their books with new ones from a comprehensive collection, carefully selected to suit all age groups and tastes.
Admission to Al Ain Reads is free daily from 9am to 1pm and from 5pm to 9pm.
