Dubai-based Al Bayan newspaper has marked 34 years of its life as one of the largest Arabic language publications in the Middle East.

The paper said it had received greetings from many officials, businessmen, establishments, companies and other parties on the occasion.

“Al Bayan is a hallmark in the Gulf media given its extensive coverage and reporting, which is characterized with straightforwardness, transparency and impartiality,” said Sakina Fouad, an adviser to Egypt’s president.

“This paper has never veered away from the guiding compass it has set for itself, reflecting a genuine supportive stand for the Arab nation…Al Bayan has become one of the most important publications in the UAE,” she told the paper.

The paper said it had a pleasant surprise on the occasion when it received a “greeting cake” from the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority. “The cake arrived before the RTA delegation which came to join the paper in its celebrations,” it said.

Al Bayan is one of four UAE major Arabic language dailies which also include Emarat Alyoum, the semi official Al Ittihad and the Sharjah-based Al Khaleej.

The paper is part of the government-owned Dubai Media Inc, among the largest information groups in the region. DMI also includes Emirat Alyoum, Emirates 24/7, Dubai TV and other publications.
