The morning traffic appears to have crippled the commute on Al Khail Road since 5.30am, with the Al Safa Exit reportedly at a near standstill.

According to Dubai Police, a collision between two trucks near the Al Khail Bridge is the root cause of the traffic, headed to towards Jebel Ali.

An eye witness told Emirates 24|7 that a 5.45am trucks and cars were parked in a layby near the Al Safa Exit, with a sea of cars stretching as far as eyes could see.”

Three hours later, there appeared to be no traffic respite, with frustrated drivers taking to Twitter to advise others to take alternate routes.
