Heavy showers were experienced in parts of the UAE yesterday, with reports of water-logging in parts of Oman, as a result of the Arabian Sea depression.

‎Rainfall was experienced in parts of Dubai, Al Ain, along with heavy showers in the eastern region, including Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and even parts of Ajman and Sharjah.

The UAE’s National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology ( NCMS) has stated the wet weather is expected to continue for another 24 hours, with convective clouds possibly extending from the eastern region to northern inland by noon.

‎The high humidity levels will continue to increase the probability of fog and mist over the western areas, with Thursday morning particularly affecting inland areas such as Liwa.

Oman, meanwhile, has experienced heavy showers and thunderstorms across its coastline with the Met Office forecasting more wet weather later on Thursday.

Cities including capital Muscat, along with Sohar, Nizwa, Al Buraimi, Ibri, Sur and Masirah Island are all expecting more rainfall today, according to Oman Meteorology, with a possibility of thunderstorms in parts.

The Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) Oman has also issued warnings for residents to avoid crossing wadis and low lying areas over water-logging.

The weather across the UAE and Oman is expected to clear by Friday and Saturday.
