A second accident in as many days on Wednesday afternoon brought traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road to a crawl for people heading from Jebel Ali and Dubai Media and Intenet cities towards downtown.
Eyewitnesses said they saw a small car overturned. Police and Civil Defence teams were on hand directing rescue operations and at least one fo the driver saw a stretcher. The accident has taken place just before Safa Park.
"Traffic has slowed down to a trickle," said a driver.
On Tuesday, a goods carrier has overturned on Sheikh Zayed Road near the second interchange, causing traffic moving towards Abu Dhabi to slow down.
Goods being carried by the vehicle were seen scattered on the busy street. At the time this story was written, the traffic had slowed down to a halt and the police officials had reached the accident site.
