Salah Bu Farousha Al Falasi, Head of Dubai Traffic Prosecution, said that the 26-year-old Filipino driver did not sustain injury in the accident and will stand trial for mistakenly causing death to a person and damages to others properties.
He said that preliminary investigations of the accident led that the Filipino was responsible for the death of the 54-year-old Pakistani woman who was standing on the pavement.
The car driver coming behind the Filipino testified that he jumped the red light and his car collided to another car ahead of him.
Because of the strong collision, the car ahead hit the pavement and knocked the woman down.
The second car was driven by an Emirati woman who sustained minor injuries. The Pakistani woman succumbed to injuries later in the hospital.
Since the beginning of this year traffic accidents claimed 63 lives compared to 86 during the same period last year.
