Dubai’s Gold Souk Bus Station, located near the Gold Souk in Deira, will be temporarily relocated to Palm Deira Metro Station starting from July 1, according to a media statement issued by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

“Relocating the Gold Souk Bus Station to Palm Deira Metro Station is dictated by the need to build a new Gold Souk Bus Station to accommodate the rising number of public transport users in the area which is bustling throughout the week,” said Eisa Al Hashmi, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA.

The bus routes that will be routed to Palm Deira Metro Station are 27, 17, 13, 10, 8, 4, 91A, 64A, 13D, 11A, 64, 53, 43, X94, X23, X10, C28, C09, C07, C05, and C04.

Starting from the same day, some changes to the bus routes will be made.

The path of Route C19 will start from Deira City Centre Station and will not reach Ghubaiba Bus Station.  Route F8, which connects to Dubai Metro stations will be extended to cover Toyota Service Centre at Dubai Festival City; Route 53 will be diverted to Bani Yas Square and will no longer connect to Al Ras Metro Station and Sabkha Marine Transport Station, and Route E16 will no longer reach Gold Souk Bus Station, said Al Hashmi.

All services, equipment and NOL selling machines of the old bus station will be relocated to the Palm Deira bus station, the RTA noted, adding that the public will be informed about the changes via news wires, social media networks, brochures, leaflets and text messages.
