Dubai launches ‘find-a-doctor’ iPhone app

Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), a member of Tecom Investments’ Sciences Cluster, on Wednesday announced the launch of 'Find a Doctor' iPhone application as a convenient and user-friendly tool to locate quality healthcare providers based in the free zone.

The application allows users to browse through a dynamic directory of doctors, clinics, hospitals, pharmacies and health insurance providers and contact them directly from their iPhone, retrieving useful information such as contact details including telephone, websites and e-mail.

Healthcare providers are classified by more than 60 specialties and over 30 different spoken languages, making it easier for people to identify a health expert.

Dr Ayesha Abdullah, Managing Director of Tecom Investments’ Sciences Cluster and Executive Director of DHCC, said: “We are committed to customer service excellence and fundamental to that is providing accessible communication through relevant channels. The new application allows easy search for a wide range of medical experts and services using criteria that matters to the public.

“By helping the public locate experts, we hope to make it easier for them to seek medical advice and support when they need it – therefore improving the overall healthcare delivery process and patient experience.

“This activity complements our patient rights’ campaign that is focused on informing the public about their rights and responsibilities when it comes to healthcare. It also comes as part of our endeavour to raise awareness about the DHCC Patient Charter that sets out what people can expect from a DHCC-based healthcare provider. We want to empower patients so they can access services and expertise which meet their healthcare needs.”
