Dud cheque puts man on road to jail, deportation

A court in Fujairah sentenced an Arab man to three months in jail and ordered his deportation for issuing a dud cheque to a local firm.

The contracting and general trade company in the emirate reported the unnamed man to the police after it failed to cash his cheque of Dh192,600.

An appeals court upheld an earlier three month jail sentence and ordered deportation of the man after he  confessed to issuing the cheque, the Arabic language daily Alittihad said.
