The website provides a large database of donors in all the emirates, even in remote parts of the country.

It list phone numbers and contact details of donors from different blood groups.

It gives those who are in need for any type of blood easy and quick access to the needed blood, especially for those with rare blood groups.

A cross section of donors who registered in this website told Emirates 24|7 that they did this for this love of good work.

Abdullah Al Zarouni, a 27-year-old UAE national from Abu Dhabi and a regular blood donor with Abu Dhabi Blood Bank said: "I came to know about this website from the Blood Bank in Abu Dhabi. I donate blood every six months. My blood group is O+ and the reason I registered with the website is because I like to help others. It is a good thing to take the initiative and help others as one day I might be in need for such help."

Mohammed Al Qadi, a 30-year-old Egyptian engineer living in the UAE, registered at the website two years ago.

"I saw the website while browsing the internet long time ago. It was a great thing. I registered immediately because this is a great website. It helps people who are mostly in need and help which can save a life."

He added that he has been donating blood for many years.

Omneya, an Algerian French also living in the UAE was keen to donate blood after coming here from France.

"In France, I started donating blood. This is a noble thing as it helps in saving lives. After coming here, I searched on the Internet and found this website and registered in it."

She added: "My blood group is O- and this is a rare blood group. We don't take blood from any other blood group except O-. Thus, I registered because many people are in need for my blood group."
