Eid in Dubai: Click for mall-to-mall guide to non-stop shopping fest

Malls in Dubai plan to roll out the red carpet for their visitors during the forthcoming ‘Eid in Dubai- Eid Al Adha’ celebrations by offering longer shopping hours and several entertaining activities that will complement the exciting calendar of events drawn up by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and the organisers of ‘Eid in Dubai’.

The ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations from October 10-19 is being organised by DFRE for the sixth successive year to position Dubai as the destination of choice for families and tourists during the joyous occasion of Eid Al Adha.

The highlight of the ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations will be the ‘Dubai 24 Hours’ shopping initiative that was launched last year on a directive from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Eight leading malls will be participating in ‘Dubai 24 Hours’ on the Day 1 and 2 of Eid Al Adha, allowing families and tourists to enjoy the experience of staying in shopping malls into the early hours of the morning, and picking up great bargains and deals from participating malls and thousands of retail outlets who will stay open round-the-clock.

The malls that are participating in the ‘Dubai 24 hours’ initiative are The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre, Mirdif City Centre, Dubai Festival City Mall, Oasis Centre, Arabian Centre and Lamcy Plaza.

These eight malls will also offer extended shopping hours during the other days of the Eid in Dubai celebrations from 10am to 2am, and dining hours until 3am.


Additionally, several other malls including Mercato, Ibn Battuta Mall, BurJuman, Dubai Outlet Mall,  Al Ghurair Centre and Wafi will also offer extended shopping hours during the ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations from 10am till midnight, with some of them staying opening into the early hours of the morning.

In addition to special offers and promotions, shopping malls also plan to organise a diverse range of activities for their visitors during the celebrations that will be held under the theme “Eid Al Adha unites us in celebration”.

BurJuman

BurJuman is set to enthrall families with fun stage shows and traditional folkloric entertainment during the Eid Al Adha.

A pianist will regale shoppers with classic pieces and popular number while a troupe of seven expert performers will perform the Dabke, the Arabic folkloric dance. Visitors can also watch the Candy Dance, featuring four performers dressed up in colourful, fluffy and florescent costumes, who will jive to lively piano music.

Al Ghurair Centre

Al Ghurair Centre will be offering a variety of activities for the entire family including performances by street performers, an urban circus, jugglers , magicians and a modern Tannoura dance.

During ‘Eid Al Adha’, retail outlets at Al Ghurair Centre will be open from 10am till midnight while food and beverage outlets will be open until 1am.
