An Emirati and two Arab nationals were killed in a horrific accident in Sharjah on Saturday.
Upon receiving information by police patrol in charge of patrolling highways, ambulances and rescue teams rushed to the site on Nazwa Road to find the men stuck inside the car.
The Civil Defence personnel quickly got them out. However, two Arab nationals and the Emirati could not be saved. While the fourth person was rushed to hospital.
Initial investigations reveal that Arabs in a Jaguar entered the main road from an unauthorized point and thus collided with a Nissan Patrol, which was driven by an Emirati.
Both the cars swerved and flipped over several times, leading to the death of three of them. The passenger along with the Emirati sustained injuries and is hospitalized.
Colonel Ahmed bin Darwish, Director, Traffic and Patrolling Department, Sharjah Police, urged motorists to abide by traffic rules while expressing his sorrow over the fatal accident.
He advised drivers to be alert on the road as an emergency can occur at any time.
This accident occurred because one of the drivers entered the road from a wrong point, without checking if the road is clear, he added.
